Last update?

Special
Okay, since I've got facebook now (and yes I just signed up for one), I think I'll be putting pictures there instead.

Nevertheless, I'll still put up some pictures this time.  Yeah...just for those who can't find me on facebook ahahaha

I think I'll close livejouranling with pictures from my new home in Taiwan!  Take a look~

Alrighty.  I'm not taking that many pictures now, but if I do those'll be on facebook.  Yep.  Okay see you guys.  It's been fun blogging.

Yay for Kaohsiung

Default
What's been going on with me these past few weeks?

Well, we moved out of Taipei...and now I'm living in Kaohsiung...but not in the city.  I live in the outskirts of the city, and it's pretty rural for me.  But yay I can drive here...and when it stops raining I'm finally going to go get my scooter license so I can actually get to places.

Speaking of which, driving in southern Taiwan is fun, but could be dangerous sometimes because people don't really follow traffic rules.  I'll tell you guys more about that later...if I remember.

Anyway, I'll put up pictures later.  I told you guys that we sold the house in Fremont, right?  Now there's a cargo container shipping in any day, and just when we've unpacked and put everything we've brought down from Taipei to its places here, a container is coming in.  Yay.

So yes, I'll put up pictures later.  Meanwhile, Taiwanese television and FFXII is keeping me glued to the TV.  (←explains why I haven't been updating very much huh)

Anyway, I'll update later.

Notice

Default
I'm going to cut everything and say that, yeah, I'm busy here in Taiwan.  On top of getting ready to move out of Taipei, I'm also swimming here too.  Well it's hot...and I gotta find something to do besides taking people to places.

----------------

So yes, about the house in Fremont...my parents already sold the house, and a new family is moving in pretty soon.  Boo.  I wasn't even there to say goodbye to the house in which I've spent like 10 years living in.

Where's the new place?  I don't really have a place in norcal now, but if anything, I'd go to my bro's place...which is now an apartment thing in downtown San Jose.  I don't wanna bother him too much too...so like I said, I'm going to really move myself down socal and actually stay there (instead of driving back every once in a while).

Bye Fremont.  Thanks for all the memories.  Come to think of it, even though Fremont's pretty boring, it does have its charms.

---------------

It's very painful to type because some of the keys on my laptop aren't functioning very well.  So yes, I'm not going to be using the computer very much here.  I don't have time to anyway.

I'll update again on the whole moving thing later.  Oh for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about...my parents are getting themselves out of Taipei and moving down to Kaohsiung.  That will happen in less than 2 weeks...so yeah, massive packing for the days to come.

For good memories

Reflection
All done with finals except there's this one last one on Friday.  Well, I'm pretty busy this week anyway.  Let's see...today I'm going to go cancel my health insurance, go buy some more stuff, etc.

The thing is, like I said last time, I don't have time (or space in my luggages) for souvenirs anymore :O Ah well, whatever I can't buy here, I can buy in Taiwan.  Doesn't matter.

Speaking of which, next week by now I'd already be in Taiwan.  Time flies huh

Aw, I'll really miss this Japan =[

2 more weeks to go :O

Default
Actually it's less than that.  I'd be in Taipei 2 weeks from now.  Ooooh.

So yes, I should be going to all these places to shop and stuff.  But no I've got finals and papers plus presentations to worry about.

To make things even worse, the last of my final exam is on the very last day of finals week, which is next Friday.  Then 3 days after that it's sayonara for me.  That means I probably won't have time to even go shopping.  Just...farewell parties here and there.  Oh yeah, so expect more pictures and stuff.

Meanwhile...

Aw.  I'll miss this kinda stuff :(

Okay back to work.  This update wasted 10 minutes.

rare consecutive update for me

Default
I just had to get it out.  Did you know this existed?

I'm not surprised, this IS Japan, after all.  But an international competition...? -_-

Actually, that kinda sounds interesting.  Too bad I won't be here by then.  Aw.

Changes to come

Reflection
Just want to make some announcements.  Well, just one for now, really.

When I left the US for Japan, I thought I'd get back home in Fremont in about a year and stuff.  But no, we're selling the place and moving somewhere else.

Well, I practically don't even live in Fremont anymore, so yeah.  I still have tons of stuff in my room...but really, come September, I'm really going to have to move everything I have down to Socal.  After that, the Tsai family US base would probably move to a condo somewhere around Fremont.

Of course, this was totally unexpected when it was announced.  We've lived there for...hmm eight years, then I "moved" down to Irvine.  Eight years.  That went by pretty fast.  But really, it's time to move on and stuff.  After all, both my bro and I are in college and will be graduating soon enough too.  It just feels kinda weird for not being able to see that house one last time...to say goodbye and stuff.

Anyway, I'm probably going to have to refocus and center my life around Socal more.  That'd mean...that I won't go back to Norcal so often from now on.  Can't help it though.

I'll miss that house in Fremont.  So many memories.

Japanese class, 插花

Default
3 weeks to go until finals.  Then finals week...and then I leave...ooh when you keep track of the time like this days actually pass by pretty slowly.

Then I'd start to wonder how I've spent the last 11 months here.  Well...honestly, for the first half I was pretty much occupied with orchestra.  Then when I quit, church activities actually became a significant portion of my life here.  Like I said last time, I like this church more than any other churches I've been to...ahh I'll miss these people here.

Besides that, I've haven't been been assigned this much homework in a while.  Basically at this level...I'm doing stuff I didn't think I could do a year ago.  Like last Friday in my Japanese reading class, I had to prepare reading material, worksheet, and vocab list to everyone, and lead the class in discussion questions, concerns, or opinions regarding the reading material.

FYI I chose an excerpt from a book on the relationship between the economy and transportation industry...which was an easy read.  But leading the discussion wasn't such an easy task.  The teacher sometimes raises questions that I can't even answer, but fortunately other classmates came to my rescue and answered those questions for me ahahahah

Sigh I suck at leading a class.  The good thing's that there were only 7 people in that class.  Well not very many people take Japanese classes at this level...and yeah my Japanese writing class only has 5 students.  Oh don't get me wrong, it's great...but just kinda awkward sometimes.

I'm pretty sure I won't graduate on-time (because of my decision to do a specialization), but I do hope I won't forget all the Japanese learned here.

So, I went to Toyama for 3 days.  Details as to why I went to the countryside can be found in the update...along with the usual stuff.  Bear with me though, this is a huge update.

Preview:

That...concludes this update.  I gotta study and actually do homework now (since I've been gone for 4 days now ahahah).  Alright later people.

the weather...and an old topic

Default
Kids, look at the weather forecast before you go anywhere.

It was all shiny and stuff this morning, so I hung my laundry outside on the balcony, said bye to the homestay mom and went to school...at about 9:30am (my class doesn't start until 3pm, but I wanted to get some stuff done at school)

By the time I got off the train (about 10:15am), there were some clouds...but it was still nice and warm...

...until I saw massive dark clouds floating towards where I was while I was biking to school (I commute 45min by train and 15min by bike after that).  So when I got to school I went to the library and checked the weather...

...and yeah, some real nice thunderstorms were coming.  By that time it was already about to rain and stuff, so I called the homestay mom...and she said she got all my stuff inside just before it rained (and later hailed).

And there I was, sitting in the computer lab, wearing shorts and a T-shirt...with no umbrella.

So yes, all you people reading this thing.  The first thing you should do in the morning is check the weather.

Oh that, and please recycle or do something that helps alleviate global warming.  Raining like this (and hailing) in the middle of May here is pretty weird (according to the homestay mom).  So yes, reduce your carbon footprint or something like that.

I should participate in an environment rally/parade next time huh?  Actually I'd love to, if there's one ahahah

--------------

If you see weird fonts you can't read, chances are, your computer has no foreign language pack installed.

So what can you do? Simply find your installation CD (that is, if you haven't threw it away) and install the East Asian language pack.

However, if you did see Chinese characters and can't read...you should've paid more attention in Chinese school.
